Big Ideas,
Real Impact.

Criminal Minded Media was built on a single conviction: that access is the competitive moat no algorithm can replicate. We go where cameras aren't welcome. We earn trust where institutions manufacture silence. We sit inside stories that the rest of the industry pitches from the outside. That hasn't changed. What has changed is the world around us.

The content economy has fractured, and for a company like CMM, that's not a threat. It's an opening.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

CMM is a content company in the classical sense.

we make things that matter, built on reporting that is irreplaceable.

we are also an IP studio, a publishing house, a digital subscription brand, and a creator-economy operator all inside the same structure.

The currency hasn't changed. The mint has.

  • Television, books, film, long-form documentary, audio, these are not dying formats, they are maturing ones. The economics have shifted but the appetite hasn't. A network still needs a showrunner with embedded access. A publisher still needs a manuscript that can't be replicated by a prompt. We've built that credibility across two decades, and we intend to use it. Police 24/7. Supreme Team. City of Lies, LivePD. The work speaks.

  • This is the new center of gravity for CMM. Not content-for-hire. Not work-made-for-others. IP that we develop, publish, distribute, and monetize across every format available to us, and then license outward on our terms.

  • Description text goes hThe Dossier, To Live and Die on Crenshaw, The Twisted Gun, and Dear Momma represent four distinct properties across true crime, urban history, literary journalism, and memoir. Each one was built from the inside out, rom access, from relationships, from years of immersion. Each one is also a franchise architecture: book to documentary, documentary to series, series to subscription.

  • The digital arm is launching: Signal Zero is our first full subscription-based vertical content play, law enforcement storytelling built from bodycam footage and embedded access, designed for the short-form attention economy. It is not a spin-off of television. It is a new model entirely.

The Dossier Patreon is proof of concept: an audience will pay for proximity to a story they believe in, if you give them a reason to trust you with their time.

  • Nothing has changed. We develop the same way we always have, through access, through sourcing, through the long work of earning a seat at tables that are not set for journalists. The investigation doesn't care whether the final output is a book, a series, a vertical clip, or a Patreon episode. The rigor is the same.

  • We no longer ask "who will buy this?" before we build it. We ask "who does this belong to?" Then we build the path to the audience ourselves. Legacy partners are welcome at the table. They are no longer the only chair.
