STORY
If you follow the news in any way, shape or form, our day-to-day headlines are fairly predictable. Even Google News Tabs are categrized by generic topics; US, World, Local, Business, Technology, Entertainment, Sports, Science and Health.
One headline that every-so-rarely sneaks will be about some outrageous theft—something extraordinary, headline grabbing, attenton-getting.
These types of thefts include larceny from the world of Art, Book Collectors, Rare Coins and Stamps, Confidence Games, etc...and nowadays, you will even hear about NFT theft, digital banking fraud, and even music publishing thefts.
These ‘White Collar” crimes rise above the constant din of muggings and murders, these crimes are SEXY. Think Steve McQueen as Thomas Crown in the Thomas Crown Affair, stealing art masterpieces of the walls of a museum, or John Cusack, Anjelica Houston and Annette Benning in Grifters, and of course, the creme de la creme, Cary Grant as John Robie in To Catch a Thief.
In Season One of High Crimes we will detail these rarely heard stories. Each episode will be self-contained and follow a crime from one of the aforementioned categories.
