The policing of American cities is changing fast, evolving at the speed of technology and innovation.

Police Departments are relying more and more on specialized units to combat gangs, drugs, guns, and cyber-crimes that proliferate onto the streets. These Task Force entities are where the elite officers in each department aspire to work at, and where the action really is.

A&E’s Live PD has changed the landscape of policing on television going live from police departments across the United States every Friday night. This show has become one of the highest-rated cable shows of 2019.

The problem is “real” police work on the show consists of busting perps with dime bags of weed, or random DUI stops in the back-woods of America.

These are all fan favorites but NOT the future of LIVE POLICE TELEVISION.
